Real estate for us has always been about helping people. Being able to connect with our clients and offer a more personalized service that puts their goals, dreams, and interests ahead of anything else.
This commitment to a personalized real estate experience inspired us to start Asheville Home Realty – a small, husband and wife owned, boutique style business where we can really focus on each of our client’s individual needs to achieve their real estate goals.
Since starting our careers in real estate in 2006, our business has always been rooted in working closely with friends and family and has grown from there. Throughout our journey over the years, our friends have become our cherished clients and our clients have become some of our closest friends. We have been blessed to work with so many great people, helping each of them find their special place to call HOME.

I am Cherise Ahern, and I moved to Asheville in 2002 when my first born was just 6 weeks old. I was determined to give my children a childhood full of nature’s wonders to explore.
Asheville was the perfect fit for my family and I believe it was the best decision I ever made! The community welcomed me with open arms and made me feel like I belonged. I was part owner and operator of Thermacraft Energy Services, a company that provided solar electric and radiant floor heating. I have worked in restaurant management, property management for AirBNB’s, and started a cold press juice company with my boys to show them how to start a business.
I began my career in real estate by simply helping all my friends and family find homes to be near and enjoy this beautiful city. I have a passion for interior design and have been fortunate to help others find the perfect finishes for their space.
I have recently opened a real estate investment company with a peer, and I take single family homes and renovate them to allow future owners get the full potential from these fresh, updated homes. I love putting my passion for design into work!
Asheville means so much to me and my family, and will always be our forever home.
I relocated my family to Asheville in 2008. I much prefer the mountain lifestyle versus the complexity of city life growing up in New England, outside of Providence, Rhode Island.
Being a lifelong learner, I immersed myself into the local culture, and now consider myself a Local Expert on living & playing in Western North Carolina towns around Asheville. It is so diverse, eclectic and inclusive here. You really never meet a stranger, but if you do, and you are open to it, you won’t be strangers for long.
When I am not working, I enjoy trails with waterfalls or river/streams. I live in Black Mountain, it has Lake Tomahawk and a backdrop of mountains. It’s a great place to unplug in nature.
My career choice has always been about helping. First as a Registered Nurse, then as a Certified Nurse Midwife with a Masters degree. Caring for people and helping bring new life into the world, I am adept at what it truly means to help and to serve.
This combined with my local expertise and my 12+ years assisting Realtors and Families find HOME, I can confidently recommend both myself and my Team at Asheville Home Realty to you and your families.

My name is Mindy Livengood, and I am honored to be one of Asheville Home Realty’s newest team members.
Although I am old news to the business, there is a fresh excitement to have the support of such a caring and personal team! This allows me to offer my clients more support than ever – something that is priceless in such relationships.
I am an Asheville native with extensive knowledge of the area in both personal and business aspects. I have lived and worked in the area for more than 30 years. My heart led me to focus on Real Estate in 2016, when I grew my own family and felt drawn to help others take steps to fulfill their own needs.
I enjoy working with buyers, sellers, and investors, which keeps me bright-eyed and bushy-tailed in all types of residential transactions.
